ORDINANCE - 1ST READING - PUBLIC HEARING JUNE 23, 2008

ORDINANCE 2008-12

BOND ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AN AMBULANCE FOR THE BOROUGH OF SPOTSWOOD, APPROPRIATING $65,000.00 THEREFORE AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF $61,750.00 BONDS AND NOTES OF THE BOROUGH FOR FINANCING PART OF THE COST FOR IMPROVEMENTS AUTHORIZED TO BE UNDERTAKEN IN AND BY THE BOROUGH OF SPOTSWOOD, IN THE COUNTY OF MIDDLESEX, NEW JERSEY.

2008-87 Tax Collector authorized to refund $3,324.07 to First American Real Estate Tax Service for property known as block 94.5, Lot 12 & Block 85.19, Lot 4 due to duplicate payments.

2008-88 Tax Collector authorized to refund $1,812.40 to Wells Fargo Real Estate Tax Service for property known as block 86.10, Lot 2 due to duplicate payment.

2008-89 Tax Collector authorized to refund $192.40 to property known as 272 Village Drive East do to over billing for 4th quarter 2007.

2008-90 Borough Council authorize a bond reduction for property known at Block 26, Lots 7.01, 7.02, 7.03 & 7.04 per recommendation by CME Associates.

2008-91 Amendment of resolution 2008-81 estimated tax bills due to levy for 2008 incorrectly set.

2008-92 Borough Council approves the attached list of Spotswood Volunteer Fire Department Members who have met the criteria for the year 2007 for LOSAP.

2008-93 Borough Council authorize the borough clerk to issue renewal liquor licenses for 2008-09.

2008-94 Professional Service Contract for Gary Schwartz to defend the borough on a Civil Action Complaint for a fee not to exceed $5,000.00.

2008-95 Borough Council authorize the Chief of Police to make application to U.S. Department of Justice, Cops Technology for Safe Schools Initiative to secure our schools safety grant in the amount of $36,000.00

2008-96 Borough Clerk authorize the appropriate officials to enter into an agreement with Pitney Bowes for a DM550 Digital Mailing System Package for a period of 60 months leased through State Contract A63753.

2008-97 Resolution of a Temporary Emergency appropriation #3.

2008-98 Emergency Conditions require the adoption of a bond ordinance for the purpose of bonding and purchasing an Ambulance for the Spotswood Emergency Medical Services.

2008-99 Mayor and Borough Council authorize the replacement of the HVAC System in the Spotswood Public Library.
