Look for a YELLOW ENVELOPE in your mail:
The Department of Human Services is mailing easy to complete applications for NJ FamilyCare to parents who indicated on their 2009 NJ 1040 tax return that they had an uninsured child in their home. The Express Lane Applications are being mailed statewide in batches of 9,000 per week until all the families are contacted.
The state did a similar mailing last year and with your help thousands of children were enrolled in NJ FamilyCare. Please look for a yellow envelope marked, NJ FAMILYCARE EXPRESS LANE APPLICATION FOR HEALTH INSURANCE ENCLOSED, complete the application, and return it to NJ FamilyCare.
This is not junk mail!
The state also has a translation service and materials available in 13 additional languages. Information provided to NJ Family Care is used only to enroll children. For help, call 1-800-701-0710, or visit www.njfamilycare.org. Parents can also contact the Association for Children of New Jersey for help completing applications at 973-643-3876 or njfamilycare@acnj.org.
As you know, children with health coverage are more likely to get the preventative care they need to stay healthy and are ready to learn. Given the tough budgetary times we are facing in New Jersey, smart ideas are needed to help us meet our statutory mandate that all children have health insurance. Express Lane Applications are an efficient way to determine eligibility and reduce the number of uninsured children. If everybody helps, together we can do a lot to make this effort a win for New Jersey kids.
The Association for Children of New Jersey is a leading, nonprofit child advocacy group dedicated to improving the health and well-being of all children in New Jersey. ACNJ is We are working with other organizations like the Mountainside Health Foundation to assist the state in its outreach efforts to boost enrollment in NJ FamilyCare.
