Spotswood Community Development Block Grant (CDBG)
Home Safety Repair Grant

The Spotswood Office on Aging is offering a home safety and health repair grant for    private and mobile homes.  Recipients must be over 21 years old, own and reside in the home, and meet the following income criteria:


  One person:                                            $46,000
  Two people:                                            $52,600
  Three people (residents over age 18) :  $59,150
  Four people (residents over age 18):     $65,700


The permitted repairs will be for handicap modification, as well as health and safety     repairs on an income and priority basis.  Please note that there is $4750 lifetime  maximum for this grant.  There is a 1% cost share on all benefits received through the CDBG grant, resulting in a maximum cost of $47.50.  To apply for an exclusion from the cost share, recipients must be receiving Medicaid benefits or show proof that the average combined balance of their savings and checking accounts is less than $1500 for the previous three months.
