The Spotswood Police Department is proud to announce the dates of its
fourth annual Junior Police Academy and the Cadet Seminar.
The Junior Police Academy will be held on July 18 through July 25, 2008
and is for students entering grades 9 through 12.
The Cadet Academy will be held on July 15, 2008 for grades 6 through 8.
These programs will be conducted at the Spotswood High School by Police Officers from Spotswood.

The Junior Police Academy is specifically designed to help the recruit build confidence, self-esteem, physical conditioning, awareness of community, and the concept of teamwork.
Junior Recruits will also gain insight on a variety of law enforcement topics including motor vehicle stops, crash investigation, CPR, criminal laws, and crime scene investigation. The Junior Academy is conducted from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm daily, and culminates with a graduation procession.

The Police Cadet Seminar allows the student a brief insight on law enforcement, and is a preview to the Junior Police Academy. The student will meet various law enforcement officials, and tour the Police Headquarters.
In addition, students will learn about what it takes to be a police officer. The Police Cadet Seminar will be held on July 15, 2008, from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

Applications for the Junior Police Academy and the Cadet Seminar
are currently available at the Spotswood Police Headquarters located at 77 Summerhill Road.
The applications may be picked up at any time.
All applications must be completed in full and returned no LATER THAN JUNE 20, 2008.
