PROCLAMATION

             WHEREAS Richard Bradshaw served his tour of duty on the U.S.S. Wrangell, AE-12, in Viet Nam, from 1968 to 1969.        
  
              WHEREAS, Richard Bradshaw joined the Thomas A. Swanwick Veterans of Foreign War Post # 850 in West New York, N.J. served in all chairs and became Commander in 1975 through 1977.

       WHEREAS, Richard Bradshaw joined the Spotswood Memorial Post # 4589 in 1977. 

WHEREAS, Richard Bradshaw was elected Post Commander in 1984 through 1985, he was elected Post Quartermaster in 1989 through 1993. He was again elected Post Quartermaster in 1995 and is currently serving in that position.

       WHEREAS, Richard Bradshaw, served as District 8 Quartermaster for Two years, he became   District 8 Chaplin and worked his way up through the chairs to District 8 Commander in May of 2003. Richard has served on numerous committees including The Military Order of the Cootie, Pup Tent # 69, F Throop as Seam Squirrel in 1980-1981 and as Grand Commander of the New Jersey Military order of the Cootie 1993-1994 and is presently the Department Assistant Chief of staff for Three Years and has also held four National appointments over the years.  And was recently elected Department Commander at this years Department Convention in Wildwood.

WHEREAS, his dedication to these causes and to The Veterans of Foreign Wars for so many years has earned him the respect and affection of so many who are proud to call him "friend"; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED that I, Thomas W. Barlow, Mayor, on behalf of the residents of the Borough of Spotswood, do hereby tender to Richard Bradshaw this Proclamation of Public Recognition, extending to him our deep appreciation for his distinguished service, and our best wishes for continued success in all his future endeavors.
