WHEREAS, Lorraine Brooks, joined The Ladies Auxiliary of the Spruce Run Memorial VFW Post 5119, under the eligibility of her husband, Lawrence; and
WHEREAS, Lorraine Brooks, served as Junior and Senior Vice President and Auxiliary President for 12 years winning the " All American President in 1997; and
WHEREAS, Lorraine Brooks was President in District 19, Hunterdon County, for 5 consecutive years before she was elected Department Guard in 2004 and has progressed through the chairs, while in office she received the Helping Hand Award for the All American District President's Contest and she was elected to the high office of Department President in June of 2008; and
WHEREAS, Lorraine Brooks, has served District 19 Veterans of Foreign Wars, and served on the following Committees,
Cancer Aid and Research
Youth Activities
Voice of Democracy
Hospital Committee, Chairman
Buddy Poppy Committee
Community Service, Chairman
Safety Chairman
Political Action Committee
WHEREAS, Lorraine Brooks, won First Place on the National level as "Buddy Poppy Chairman, First Place for Legislation Chairman and Best Promotions, Second Place at National as Hospital Chairman and Best Promotions.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that I, Mayor Thomas W. Barlow on behalf of the residents of Spotswood, do hereby tender to Lorraine Brooks, this Proclamation of Public Recognition, extending to her our deep appreciation for her distinguished service.
