PROCLAMATION


    WHEREAS, John P. Mangano resides at 88 Main Street in the Borough of Helmetta and he is a member of Boy Scout Troop 84; and
    WHEREAS, John has dedicated himself to the goal of obtaining the prestigious Boy Scouts of America award known as the Eagle Scout Award; and

    WHEREAS, this award is the highest honor that can be bestowed on an individual by the Boy Scouts of America; and

    WHEREAS, John P. Mangano is to be commended for his project that was carried out in the Borough of Helmetta.  His project consisted of mapping out all the storm drains in town and then installing numbered medallions on the storm drains.  There were over 200 medallions that had to be drilled or glued into place; many miles were walked through the Borough.  Log sheets were made and filled out to correspond with each drain.  A total of 100.25 hours were spent to complete this project.

    WHEREAS, John Mangano has earned the respect and admiration of the Boy Scouts throughout New Jersey for his sense of commitment, perseverance and willingness to strive for excellence; and

    WHEREAS, John Mangano will be honored and receive his award at an Eagle Court of Honor recognition dinner on February 22, 2009.

    NOW THEREFORE, I, Thomas W. Barlow, Mayor of the Borough of Spotswood, on behalf of the entire Governing Body, do commend John P. Mangano on the significant occasion of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. We wish him much luck and success in all his future endeavors. Further I proclaim February 25, 2009 John P. Mangano Day in the Borough of Spotswood in recognition of this noteworthy achievement.
