WHEREAS, Gary Drozd has served as a member of the Recreation Commission from 1991 to 2011, serving twenty years with dedication and distinction; and
WHEREAS, Gary Drozd ran the Youth Wrestling program for elementary school children for many years, he helped with the Baseball (T-ball) Clinic and was very active in the Spotswood Youth Baseball Program; and
WHEREAS, Gary Drozd helped with various community programs during his years of service, including the Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Tree Lighting and Spotswood 5K; and
WHEREAS, Gary Drozd will be remembered and missed most for his role of Santa, which he performed for countless years. He was dedicated to the role of Santa, meeting and greeting the children of Spotswood, arriving by fire truck, no matter what the weather; and
WHEREAS, Mayor Barlow, the members of the Borough of Spotswood Council, and members of the Recreation Commission are cognizant of Gary's special talents and expertise in the field of recreation, and the invaluable service he has given our Borough. The Recreation Commission want to thank Gary Drozd and will miss him very much.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that Mayor Barlow, Borough Council members and Recreation Commission of the Borough of Spotswood does hereby convey to Gary Drozd our heart-felt appreciation and commendation for his long- time service, and the exemplary spirit he has exhibited in carrying out his duties as a member of the Recreation Commission for the Borough of Spotwood.
