PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS, the future of our community, our State and our Nation depends upon the type of young people we rear to handle the affairs of tomorrow; and
WHEREAS, it is the duty of all citizens, parents and youth organizations to develop a proper attitude among the young people of our community, and to provide them with positive examples, environments and opportunities; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Bear Charger Pop Warner Cheerleading Squads are a group of young people whose cheerleading competition provides them with an opportunity to learn and enjoy the meaning of team spirit and the value of hard work and dedication. The membership of the Golden Bear Charger Pop Warner Cheerleading Squads are comprised of residents of Spotswood, East Brunswick and Helmetta; and
WHEREAS, the Golden Bear Chargers Midget Small Intermediate Cheerleaders are the Central Jersey Champions, State Qualifier Champions and Eastern Region Champions which provided this team with the opportunity to compete at the National level, in Disney World in Orlando, Florida on December 12, 2008, at which time they placed sixth (6th) and brought great recognition and honor to the three communities and organization.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED that I, Thomas W. Barlow, Mayor and the Borough Council of the Borough of Spotswood, congratulate the Golden Bear Chargers Midget Small Intermediate Cheerleading Squad for their great achievements by twice earning the opportunity to compete Nationally. The squad members are: Kendall Bacskoczky, Nicole Basile, Savannah Bruno, Taylor Bruno, Amanda Candella, Francesca Galluzzo, Kayleigh Jagemann, Cristina Joule, Jordan Kimball, Juliann Marfitt, Jaclyn Nemec, Paige Nielsen, Kelly Parks, Nicole Podraza, Meghan Scaramia, Kristin Seely, Kaitlyn Slomko, Diana Szabo.
We also recognize their Coaches and Advisors: Cheer Commissioner, Laura Bacskoczky, Head Coach, Susan DeStefano-Kimball and Assistant Coaches: Mariestelle Magliano and Kristen Phibbs.
BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Golden Bear Chargers Midget Small Intermediate Cheerleaders be commended for exhibiting the qualities of dedication, perseverance, and self-sacrifice throughout the season.
