PROCLAMATION

    WHEREAS, membership in the Golden Bear Chargers Pee Wee Small Advanced Cheerleaders is comprised of residents of Spotswood, East Brunswick and Helmetta; and  

    WHEREAS, the Golden Bear Chargers Pee Wee Small Advanced Cheerleaders competed in the Central Jersey Competition, State Qualifiers and Regional level, which provided them the opportunity to compete at the National level, which was held in Disney World, Orlando, Florida on December 8, 2008 and won 1st place, and brought home the GOLD; and

    WHEREAS, this type of competition provides an opportunity for our youth to learn and enjoy the meaning of team sprit and the value of hard work and dedication; and

    WHEREAS, the Golden Bear Chargers Pee Wee Small Advanced Cheerleaders have worked hard and brought home not only trophies, but also recognition for the Golden Bear Chargers and also the communities of Spotswood, East Brunswick and Helmetta. 

    NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED that I, Mayor Thomas W. Barlow, of the Borough of Spotswood on behalf of the entire Borough Council, congratulate the Golden Bear Chargers Pee Wee Small Advanced National Champions   for making history and their awesome Gold Medal finish at the National Competition of Cheerleading.  Squad members are Emily Baile, Brittney Benesz, Kelsi Conahan, Shay Decker, Juliana Evans, Jacqueline Giancola, Samantha Griggs, Zariya Jackson, Emma King, Cassandra Kosty, Caitlyn Leroy, Alyssa Lilian, Angela Long, Jessica Meagher, Elizabeth Nielsen, Melissa Senkel, Shelby Wittkop and Victoria Yuhasz.

    We also recognize their Coaches and Advisors: Cheer Commissioner, Laura  Bacskoczky, Head Coach, Lorraine Nielsen, Assistant Coaches, Diane Benesz, Kellen Decker, Colleen Leroy and Christina Wittkop, Student Demonstrators, Kristina Senkel and Gloryanne Lindenmuth.

    BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that the Golden Bear Chargers Pee Wee Small Advanced National Champion Cheerleaders be commended for exhibiting qualities of dedication, perseverance, and self-sacrifice throughout the season.
