PROCLAMATION


WHEREAS, members of Junior Girl Scout Troop 81131 met as a unit with their leaders Renee Parlitsis and Shirley Zdanowicz to select a project that would benefit the community and make a positive impact on the environment; and

WHEREAS, completing all requirements and earning the Bronze Award is a very significant achievement and it is the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn; and

WHEREAS, Katie Parlitis, Rebecca Zdanowicz, Elizabeth Worden, Alexis Vieira, Abigail Donlon, Gillian Gregory, Maggie Miller chose to clean-up East Spotswood Park as their project and committed to earning two related badges and working seven hours to plan the project and eight hours to complete the project and;

WHEREAS, Junior Girl Scout Troop 81131 spent a weekend painting park equipment and benches, weeding, repairing equipment, planting flowers, cleaning memorial plaques, clearing brush and hanging colorful bird houses in the trees throughout East Spotswood Park; and

WHEREAS, Junior Girl Scout Troop 81131, under the guidance of their leaders, have more than surpassed the requirements to earn the Bronze Award and are to be commended for their sense of commitment, perseverance and willingness to strive for excellence;

NOW THEREFORE I, Thomas W. Barlow, Mayor of the Borough of Spotswood, on behalf of the entire Governing Body, do hereby commend Junior Girl Scout Troop 81131 on the significant occasion of achieving the Bronze Award.  We wish them much luck and success in all their future endeavors.
