Whereas, the Edward J. Bloustein Scholars Scholarship program recognizes outstanding academic achievement of graduating New Jersey High School seniors; and
Whereas, the Spotswood Board of Education and Superintendent Walter Uszenski are proud to announce that six senior students have been named Edward J. Bloustein Distinguished Scholars for their academic achievement; and
Whereas, students throughout the State of New Jersey are selected for the prestigious Honor based on Class Rank and SAT scores; and
Whereas, Youstina Asaad, Benjamin Davis, Kenneth Goff, Wing Chun Ko, James Pareti, and Thomas Pareti have demonstrated high academic achievement and are to be enrolled in a full-time program at a New Jersey College or University; and
Whereas, the Distinguished Scholar award of up to $1,000 is available annually without regard to financial need, to each of the recipients; and
Whereas, the achievements of these students brings tremendous honor and prestige to the Spotswood School System, their teachers, parents, families and friends.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED, that, I, Mayor Thomas W. Barlow, on behalf of the residents of the Borough of Spotswood, do hereby tender congratulations to these students for their achievement.
