Spotswood Borough Proclamations

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, Christopher V. Zawistowski resides at 306 Manhattan Avenue in the Borough of Spotswood and is a member of Boy Scout 84; and

WHEREAS, Christopher has been dedicated himself to the goal of obtaining the prestigious Boy Scouts of America award known as the Eagle Scout Award; and

WHEREAS, this award is the highest honor that can be bestowed on an individual by the Boy Scouts of America; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Zawistowski is to be commended for his project to improve the Appleby School Courtyard. Under Christopher's leadership and with the help of Troop 84 scouts, leaders, family and friends, they transformed the school courtyard into an outdoor learning environment. Over several months debris was removed, several flower boxes were built, flowers were planted, bird houses and birdbaths were erected, a butterfly garden was installed, the storage shed was painted, and the landscaping was completed; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Zawistowski has earned the respect and admiration of the Boy Scouts throughout New Jersey for his sense of commitment, perseverance and willingness to strive for excellence; and

WHEREAS, Christopher Zawistowski will be honored and will receive his award at an Eagle Court of Honor recognition dinner on November 24, 2007.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Barry H. Zagnit, Mayor of the Borough of Spotswood, on behalf of the entire Governing Body, do commend Christopher Zawistowski on the significant occasion of achieving the rank of Eagle Scout. We wish him much luck and success in all his future endeavors. Further I hereby proclaim November 25, 2007 Christopher V. Zawistowski Day in the Borough of Spotswood in recognition of this noteworthy achievement.
