Will be scheduled twice a month. Bulk waste can no longer be mixed with garbage. Included are items such as furniture, windows, etc. These are examples of the more common items and are not intended to be a complete list. BULK should be put at the curbside no sooner than the day before collection. Lumber needs to be cut, tied, and nails removed
or bent over. APPOINTMENT ONLY.

Collected by the Volunteer Fire Department will continue to pick up metal. APPOINTMENT ONLY.
BRUSH: 732-251-0700, ext. 827
Will be scheduled twice a month from April 13 - October 16, 2009. Tree parts no more than 5 inches in diameter, cut and tied no longer than 4 feet. Brush must be tied with string or cord. The Borough is not responsible for removal of tree parts larger than 5 inches in diameter. APPOINTMENT ONLY.
TWIGS:
Under 1 inch in diameter and no larger than 4 feet long can be put out with your regular garbage in an open container.
SPRING LEAF COLLECTION:
Collected every Monday, starting April 6 - April 27, 2009
Place leaves in biodegradable paper bags only (no plastic). Put out at curbside the day before.
GRASS:
Picked up in open container or biodegradable paper bags only. 50 lb. weight limit on container. NO PLASTIC BAGS. Pick up date will be Monday of each week, beginning April 20 - October 19, 2009.
HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE: 732-745-4170 (Call for locations and dates):
The County sponsors six dates per year throughout the County. Information is received in the mail.
PAINT DROP OFF:
East Brunswick, 1st Saturday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
Helmetta, 3rd Saturday, 8:00 am - 12:00 pm
Acceptable Items: Paints, Stains, Varnished, Lacquers, Thinners, Aerosol Paints.
RECYCLING DROP OFF CENTER:

Monday through Friday - 8:00 am to 3:30 pm
Saturday - 8:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon
Sundays & Holidays: Closed
Recycling can be dropped off at the Borough Yard Recycling Center at any time during operating hours. Please put recyclables in designated drums; newspapers inside newspaper containers. No dumping of non-recyclable material. Residents are encouraged to use Middlesex County recycling pick up curbside every other Tuesday commencing with the first Tuesday in January.

Keep New Jersey Water Clean: Vehicle & Garage Tips
Take your car to a service center to change oil or antifreeze.
If you change your own oil:
use self-contained oil pans
discard oil at proper service centers
antifreeze at household hazardous waste facilities
NEVER discard oil, gas or antifreeze in a stormwater drain.
In the event of a hazardous fluid spill:
contain immediately with rags or cat litter or newspaper
clean up and properly dispose of waste
remember to check your car for leaks often and have regular tune ups.
Store hazardous materials properly in its original containers to prevent spills.
