Household Hazardous Waste Drop - Off
Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Days are scheduled yearly in various locations in the County. Hours of operation are from 8 am to 2 pm unless otherwise noted. This service is provided for Middlesex County residents only, free of charge.
Acceptable Items
- Adhesives, Aerosol Cans, Antifreeze, Brake Fluid, Car Batteries, Cleaners, Drain Cleaners, Fire Extinguishers, Flares, Fluorescent Bulbs (no broken bulbs), Gasoline, Gas/Oil Mix, Kerosene, Lighter Fluid, Mercury, Motor Oil/Filters, Paints (Latex/Oil), Paint Thinner, Pesticides/Herbicides, Photographic Chemicals, Pool Chemicals, Propane Tanks, Stains/Varnishes, Thermometers, Thermostats
- Rechargeable and Button Cell Batteries (individually bag each battery or tape each terminal end prior to transport). Alkaline batteries can be disposed of in regular trash
- Asbestos-containing materials: call to pre-register; must be double bagged.
Non-acceptable Items
- Appliances/Furniture, Electronics, Empty Containers, Explosives and Munitions, Infectious/Medical Waste, Smoke Detectors, Tires
- No containers over 10 gallons
