Summerhill Road/CR 613 to be closed for railroad crossing repairs beginning Tuesday in Spotswood, Middlesex County
Detours necessary during construction
(Trenton) – Summerhill Road/CR 613 is scheduled to be closed and detoured beginning Tuesday between Main Street/CR 615 and Old Stage Road for railroad crossing repairs in Spotswood, Middlesex County.
Beginning at 7 a.m. Tuesday, October 7 until 7 a.m. Friday, October 10, Summerhill Road/CR 613 will be closed in both directions between Main Street/CR 615 and Old Stage Road to replace the railroad crossing and approaches between Main Street/CR 613 and Mott Place. Access to local businesses and residents will be maintained. The following car and truck detours will be in place:
Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound Car Detour:
Motorists on Main Street/CR 615 wishing to take Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound will be directed to continue on Main Street/CR 615 northbound
Turn left onto Old Stage Road, back to Summerhill Road/CR 613
Summerhill Road/CR 613 southbound Car Detour:
Motorists on Summerhill Road/CR 613 southbound will be directed to turn left onto Old Stage Road
Turn right onto Main Street/CR 615 southbound
Turn right onto Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound
Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound Truck Detour:
Trucks on Main Street/CR 615 wishing to take Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound will be directed to continue on Main Street/CR 615 northbound
Turn left onto Old Bridge Turnpike/CR 527
Turn left to take the ramp onto Route 18 northbound
Stay right to take the jughandle to Rues Lane/CR 617
Turn left onto Rues Lane/CR 617 and cross Route 18, back to Summerhill Road/CR 613 northbound
Summerhill Road/CR 613 southbound Truck Detour:
Trucks on Summerhill Road/CR 613 southbound will be directed to turn left onto Rues Lane
Turn right onto Route 18 southbound
Stay right to take the ramp to Main Street/CR 615
Turn right onto Main Street/CR 615 southbound
Turn right onto Summerhill Road/CR 613
In order to provide safer and smoother railroad crossing, the existing crossing will be replaced with new concrete crossings and asphalt approaches. This federally funded project is included within NJDOT’s railroad grade-crossing safety program which repairs, upgrades, or removes approximately 50 crossings each year, statewide.
